September: Irish Crochet Lace notes (Fig 44 - 56 Priscilla Irish Crochet Book No.1)

Crochet Ciúin

Updated: Oct 8, 2024

This month I found out that my Great Grandmother used to make Irish Crochet Lace and taught herself, just like I did. Up until recently I didn't know if any of my family had done this work but I had a sense that some of my ancestors might have. It's as if my hands & soul remember and I'm just catching up.

I had planned on getting far more figures done in September but I underestimated how long each design would take to make. I ended up completing one design a week - four in total. During October I'm starting the next section of the book which is all about background stitches, boarders and insertions. I've put images of my September figures below along with links to separate blog posts with notes about each piece.

Thank you so much for your support and interest in Irish Crochet Lace. If you have any questions or would simply like to chat about Irish Crochet Lace I'd love to hear from you :) Please feel free to comment under this post or you can reach out to me directly via my instagram @crochetciuin.

Until next time

Go raibh míle maith agaibh,
